My daughter is at Lollapalooza
and says there is a group there (I'm assuming outside the concert grounds) yelling at everyone that they are going to hell. They told my daughter's boyfriend he looked like a drug-addicted Elvis (have no idea where this came from - has thick brown hair but can't make the Elvis connection - and looks very normal unless he took something there but never has to my knowledge and I talked to him and he sounded fine) and told him he should read the Bible but would have to have a homeschooler read it to him. Told my daughter and her female friend that they looked like prostitutes (they dress just fine) and that all women belonged in the kitchen. Can't remember all the rest. Apparently they come every year. I told her to tell them that they have won them over by their love and kind spirit. Bunch of jerks. Has one person ever found "God speaking to them" by being berated publicly by strangers?

1. Christian soldiers
have absolutely no idea how efficiently they're driving people away from Christianity.

3. They should be in church rather than in the streets harassing people
How exactly is it Christian to disrespect people in public?

4. That would be a good thing to ask the yelling people.

"Has this ever won someone over when you do this? Are you really doing this to 'save' us, or is it really just to make you feel superior?"

Tell them to run around yelling at people drinking Coke that they're evil whores who will go to Hell unless they drink Pepsi.

Or vice versa.

There's a REASON why cola companies don't spend money on THAT kind of campaign. It doesn't work.

8. I went through the same shit at a Marilyn Manson show once...
back in 1997, during the Anti-Christ Superstar Tour; which was fucking fantastic!! But for those clowns to be doing that shit at a Lollapalooza event just shows that the bible beaters have nothing else better to do. They will protest a concert, but fail to protest the US middle east occupation where young Americans die needlessly on a daily bases.

9. I was a clinic escort for the first time today. These people are rabid, and they

think that we are all going to go to hell because we are "killing babies". Several men were there, saying the rosary, etc., a couple of nutjobs with signs, you get the picture.

11. Wow! I have never encountered those clowns!
Haven't been to a concert since like 1999 so maybe they weren't around back in the day.

What the hell do they think they are accomplishing? Elvis references? Women should be in the kitchen?

1957 called morans...you're a little behind the times lol

14. Oh .... rampant craziness is not new ....
Old as the hills, they say ....

I remember distinctly; around the 1969-1970 time frame, going to the 'KNAC Bashes' at the old Long Beach Auditorium (Damn I miss those days ...)

They would come to the entry points with their banners and bibles ; .... The banners were actually very well done, with polished wooden poles, fancy fringes and tassels, and well executed felt banner designs, showing flames and sufferings and other hellish wonders .... They would yell at the general public ..... Hurling 'anathemas' to the rock and roll sinners ...

They were quite entertaining, actually ...

15. Guess we didn't have those bozos in metro Detroit!
I am really surprised, but thinking back I never encountered those types at concerts, but all the concerts I attended were either in metro Detroit or in Detroit itself. I am glad I didn't have to hear their BS!

of being screamed at outside Clutch Cargo's, which used to be a church, on my way to see a show. I am heathen and going to hell, evidently.

17. Was that in Pontiac in the 90's?
I actually never made it there, but I remember it being popular.

We used to go to St Andrew's Hall downtown a lot for concerts (the religious loons were probably to afraid to go there lol) Went to the theatre where clubland used to be downtown for quite a few concerts too (on Woodward next to FOX theatre cannot remember what it was called)

13. A few years ago (1996?)
I went. outside the venue in the parking lot was a community cable channel correspondent (RW idiot) who told us roughly the same things. as to the "going to hell" part I responded "see ya there, we'll play botchi ball"

coming out we were thrashed and staggering. he approached us again, started to speak and my date puked on him. we never made the cut onto his half assed program. (I wonder why?)

20. Ahh, those fuckers
They are at every show i have seen in Knoxville. Extremely vocal at one show, which might have been Ozzy.

This creep was in a bright red suit screaming hatreds at people through a microphone and some small amp clipped to his belt. Following him around was his lacky dressed in rags and dragging a huge cross behind him.

You'd think we were all the scourge of the planet for going to a show:)

23. meanwhile at Afganapolooozia, we're bombing the
civilians into the biblical ages. Who do you think Jesus is gonna look at and say, "Hey guys, you did good there"?

We have some seriously demented attitudes here in the divided states of america. we surely do.
