It's OK to tell police officers to 'f*ck off'
Though I wouldn't recommend it.

A QUEENSLAND magistrate has ruled that it is acceptable for people to tell police officers to "f*ck off".
Magistrate Peter Smid yesterday threw out the court case against Mundingburra man Bardon Kaitira, 28, who swore at a female officer outside the Consortium night club on December 20, last year at 2.40am, The Townsville Bulletin reports.

1. Around these parts, that's an invitation to "resisting arrest".

2. Another one of those things one has the RIGHT to do
which right government will defend. And should.

But one still shouldn't do it.

8. If you're a big fan of exposure to painful electricity, then go right ahead.
In some jurisdictions, police-issue tasers are set to go off automatically in response to the phrase "fuck off."

9. If a cop is a big fan of a career-destroying lawsuit, he can go right ahead.
It wouldn't stop there, either. If I were improperly tasered, you can bet that I would feel obliged to do all in my power to ensure that the cop would never work anywhere, in any profession, ever again, and that his life, as well as those of his immediate family, were irretrievably ruined.

13. So you advocate terrorism?
Collective punishment is okay in your book?

Why, exactly, should his immediate family be "irretrievably ruined" because of the cop's actions?

Hell, if the cop knew in advance that you were plotting such a wide-reaching and permanent attack against him and his family, I'd say that he'd be justified in tasering you.

On a private scale, yes.
The immediate family must be prevented from helping out their scuzzbucket relative in any way. They may forgive their offending family member for his actions, but their forgiveness would be frankly worthless because they weren't the ones who were wronged in the first place. As the the offended party, it would be up to me and me alone to decide when I'd exacted enough revenge.

And the cop wouldn't know in advance unless we were living in Minority Report-land.

I'm usually very mild mannered and I'll readily forgive small slights. But fuck with me in a major way, especially assault with a taser, and you'll wish you'd never been born. That also goes for people who intentionally rip me off or otherwise steal from me.

32. What you're proposing is barbaric and regressive
You indicated that you would like to make life "a living hell" for the relatives of the cop who, hypothetically, uses a taser on you without justification.

I see no value and nothing commendable in the sort of vendetta you propose. I have no doubt that you think that you would be justified in (essentially) attacking the family, but I'm sure that the cop thought that he was justified in tasing you, too.

Alternatively, if you were to assault a cop, would that cop be justified in arresting your family? If your reasoning is even remotely consistent, then your answer must accept that punishing your family for your misdeeds is acceptable.

3. That is Australia, who knows what would happen here. But I can bet
you will see the inside of a jail cell before you are vindicated, if you are vindicated. Personally, I say "yes sir, no sir" and think "f*ck you, f*ck you". Just be smart, boys and girls. And while you are at it, would you just pull over when they try to stop your car. I am sick of watching police chases. And chances are, you will get caught---and they will be really pissed by then.

30. But bear in mind that the police are public SERVANTS whose salary you pay.
They should behave accordingly and be treated as such.

Same goes for politicians and military personnel. As a civilian, you automatically outrank them.

That's for sure..I flipped off a cop and his sargent and called them every name in the book. I guess they could run you in for disordely conduct, but that is such a hassle. If your ID comes back clean, they will let you go.

PS I was staggering down the street drunk when the cops contacted me.

Usually about 5 years after the arrest date, after you've served a few years and mortgaged your house to pay for the overworked civil rights lawyer.

You can pretty much do anything you want--but there will be consequences.

And today--with the stories we hear--do you really want to take that chance?

of the car, arms cuffed in about 2 seconds flat.

The cops here are NOT the kind you want to argue with. They believe, firmly, that they are godlets and the Chief is God himself. :P

21. I got to say it once
I was 19 and got pulled over. the cop pulled me out of my car and had me do the roadside Olympics. Being sober and carrying all the correct paperwork, I felt like he was ready to let me go. NOPE. he asked me where i was going. I said he did not need that information. he got in my face just as his supervisor/Sargent was pulling up and started screaming. "YOU want to take a swing at me, dont ya punk?" I smiled and said "not really". with that he shoved me. his sergeant yelled at him to stop. he addressed the sarge with "this punk is up to something I can feel it." the sergeant asked if he had anything on me or reason to search my car. if not, to let me go. with that I got into my car and just as I was pulling away I said "fuck off pig"

needless to say the very next block I got on the interstate and off quickly at the next exit. I was paranoid for a week that he was looking for me. as he had my name and address. But never heard another thing about it.

If you think it's TV, then it's OK. If you think it's teevee, then it's okay.
