Hello,I am ZM90. I am a huge gaming nerd,I am from the Zelda community. I am however also a Democrat and a Obama supporter which is why I'm here. I have lurked around DU for a while and found it to be a generally good place with like minded individuals. I hope to join in the political discussions and make some new friends here. Being as you describe yourself as a "Democrat and Obama supporter", I can't imagine that you would have actually joined up here.

23. Yeah I noticed the Obama bashing and Obama praise war going on.

The people who bash Obama might be surprised to learn I am very far left,a very progressive Dem but,we each have our perspectives,that's what makes us individuals right? But,we all share the same or similar values whether or not we support the president. Some are disappointed but,some are always happy about Obama. As for me well I can sometimes be disappointed in Obama but,I am generally pretty happy with him.

... which is why I'm surprised that an Obama supporter would have lurked here - and still thought he/she would be welcome.

And please be careful about describing yourself as a "very far left progressive Dem". Such designation is not up to you - but up to the self-appointed arbiters of such things.

26. Well I've dealt with more drama in the Zelda community than what

I've seen here. DU seems like it can get pretty bad around certain parts drama-wise but,I've seen worse like threats to hack sites,sites actually being hacked,happening in the Zelda community.

29. Well I know there are Obama bashers here but, there are also

supporters here as well and this is Democratic Underground. As long as there are still Obama supporters here and this site is still for Democrats then well then it's going to be a welcome place to support Obama (even if not all the time as has been demonstrated). Besides it's not like something can't be done. I mean I remember in the Zelda community when there was a grave threat to it,this threat hacked sites,site after site fell but,this threat was eventually defeated by a group of fans,I was one of them who helped lead group. We just kept driving the threat back,and well he gave up let's just say :).

As long as I am careful about my words and where I am I should be fine,and if someone demonstrates an unwillingness to reason then well,I guess that's what the block feature is for.

31. Well it really isn't completely unwelcome,depends on who you run into

Anyway,a long time ago I was actually introduced to this site through a teacher,that was back when W. was in the White House. I didn't decide to join for a long time though since I had my mind focused on other things. I do lurk the BOG sometimes. You are right though that the bashers seem to outnumber the supporters. Since I didn't join until 2010 could you tell me what you think exactly happened to lead to the current status of this site? I heard stories of members leaving.

Ocarina of Time and Majorca's Mask were incredible games.

After that, not so much.

Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask were the best Zelda games. I'm going to have to disagree with you about The Wind Waker and after not being good. Here's how I rate the games.

LoZ - Great Classic :)
TAoL - Hard,frustrating,but,a classic nonetheless
ALttP - The best 2D Zelda
LA/LADX - A awesome start for the handheld Zelda games
OoT - The best Zelda
MM - The second best Zelda
OoS/OoA - The best of the Gameboy Zelda games
FS - Pretty cool but,kinda failed experiment for a first try
TWW - A great Zelda game
FSA - A good game and better than FS
TP - Good but,lacking in some parts.
PH - Good but,lacking in some parts.
ST - A great game,I throughly enjoyed it.

And Skyward Sword is looking awesome,my advice is when Skyward Sword comes out next year,try it and see if you like it :).
