71% Think Prop 8 is Unconstitutional – Source: Fox News
http://progressivenation.us/2010/08/07/71-think-prop-8-is-unconstitutional-source-fox-news/

By Steve Clemons

Is it possible that even the center-right tilting viewing audience of Fox news programs is also open to significant upgrades of gay civil rights? That is what a surprising new, unscientific survey of a Fox web audience seems to be showing.

With pleasure, I direct you to this interesting Fox News online poll in which at the time of this posting 300,499 votes had been cast.

The poll poses the following issue and question:

A federal judge ruled on Wednesday that Prop. 8, California’s gay marriage ban is unconstitutional. Do you agree with the judge’s decision?

1. I just went in and casted my vote!
Thank you for voting!
Yes -- Prop. 8 violates the Constitution. 72% (227,059 votes)
No -- Marriage is an institution between a man and a woman. I don't care what the judge thinks about the Constitution. 24% (75,516 votes)
I'm not sure but shouldn't the voters views count for something? 3% (11,023 votes)
Other (leave a comment). 1% (1,765 votes)
Total Votes: 315,363

5. These polls are worthless...
Unscientific poll is unscientific.

Rest assured, the viewers of Fox News adamantly oppose gay marriage.

If the poll sounds too good to be true, well, it is. Lots of Fox News viewers are easily confused, so maybe they didn't understand the question or something. More likely, it was DU'd by multiple sites.

7. Doesn't even matter. The public has been known to be "a ass" at times.
The CONSTITUTION and the courts say it's unconstitutional. Tyranny of the majority (of which opposition to Prop 8 is NOT an example) is held at bay by that beloved document. 99% of the country could FAVOR Prop 8 and it still would be unconstitutional.

8. online polls are useless when they are against us... so don't quote them now

*ALL* online polls are meaningless.... A) they're self-selected... B) they're not a random sample... C) they are subject to "freeping" and "DUing".

Online polls do not mean anything.... at. all. Good OR bad.
