I can't fix the economy but have some ideas for stimulating it.
Besides the obvious expiring the Bush tax cuts on the rich and then making the rich pay their fair share here are a few things that I personally think would help:

1: Legalize pot and allow farmers to grow it for a cash crop. They pay for a growing license and pay taxes on what they sell, just like they do any other crop.

2: Pot manufacturing plants, clean ones. More taxes, more license, more workers employeed.

3: Open up coffee/pot houses in every city. Cities can decide how many and where. The houses get to decide how may employees they need/want Tax the hell out of them.

4: Get rid of the "undocumented worker" meme and open up the US/Mexico borders. You come to the US, just check in at the gate, fill out paper work for a real SSN, get a job, pay taxes and pay into social security, spend money. Workers already here get amnesty and a new and valid SSN. Work here 5 years, you get citizenship. Commit a violent crime, out you go. Any company found to not be paying a living wage to any worker gets busted right out of business.

Any one want to add some things?

1. Cap CEO salaries to 50 times the average employees pay.

The only way they make a lot of money is if the company makes money and all the employees get a raise. Ex. if the average company worker gets $25,000 in total pay/benefits then the CEO makes $1,250,000.00 dollars/yr.v Seems fair to me.

On edit: It just dawned on me that they would increase the salaries of top management to rig the average. Maybe tie it to the lowest 10% paid workers average pay.

2. I've been advocating (4) for years.
Open the border. Hand everybody a tax id number. Everybody pays into "The System", which is enforced by the laws we already have. Any employer trying to hire illegally should have the book thrown at them.

If our fearless leaders cared about really solving this problem, it would have already been solved. But they prefer to instead use it as a cheap topic for demagoguery.
