The Rude Pundit: The Five Gayest Things ...
That Tony Perkins and His Family Research Council Have Said About the Proposition 8 Decision

And the Rude Pundit means "gay" in the homosexual sense of the word.

1. "Everyone in America--including homosexuals--is free to tie the knot. Our laws simply require them to marry someone of the opposite sex."

2. "This lawsuit, should it be upheld on appeal and in the Supreme Court, would become the 'Roe v. Wade' of same-sex 'marriage.'"

3. "I think what you have is one judge who thinks he knows - and a district level judge and an openly-homosexual judge at that - who says he knows better than not only 7 million voters in the state of California, but voters in 30 states across the nation that have passed marriage amendments."

4. President Obama has "been doing everything he can to overturn the Defense of Marriage Act, to promote key aspects of the agenda of the homosexual community."

5. In response to the Judge Walker's statement that "Marriage requires two parties to give their free consent": "Why only two? Dozens of countries across the world practice polygamy, where a man can have more than one wife. Islam, for example, permits a man to have four wives, and that's the law in Muslim nations."

And you don't wanna be Muslim, do you? Do you? So let's make sure gay marriage is outlawed here, just like it is in Muslim countries.

1. And Little Tony mustn't forget the Old Testament, where multiple
wives were commonplace.

And, he's correct that President Obama is working to overturn DOMA. He'll succeed, too, if we can keep the Republicans from regaining control of congress.

2. Marriage in america is a right and as a right, the majority
cannot vote to take that "right' away from a minority!

that is the whole idea behind the Constitution. protecting the people from other people and the government.

4. Never were truer words spoken
Human Rights Shouldn't be Decided by Ballot. I think I've just created a bumpersticker!

3. Crap!
Could someone tell Mr. Rude to lay low about number 5? We would like to keep that one on the QT.

No, I'm not Mormon, but my group knew we had no chance to get our foot in the door until the Gays had gotten through. It's been looking like, in the last few years, we would never have our chance, but if DOMA falls, we will get our chance, so please don't spend a lot of time joking about that one, okay? We can have the whole discussion about whether polyamorists (we changed the name because the Mormons kind of made the other one radioactive) are genetically this way or whether it's a lifestyle choice, but the fact of the matter is, either way, I don't have the same rights with both or my husbands nor they with me. As any gay couple can tell you, we have to do a metric buttload of extra legal paperwork to even come close to achieving the same rights that a legally sanctioned couple gets just by saying "I do". And still, it's not the same.

I want all gay people to know that I truly support your fight, not only because it's also my fight but because you are right. We are also right. Marriage exclusion by gender or number is wrong. The only two exclusions I can think of off the top of my head that are right is that all must be consenting (no children, please) and that all should be human.
