Revolution in the air
Revolution in the air

<snip>

I am fed up with the lack of fight, lack of spirit, lack of energy and lack of cojones of a party that must renew its right to call itself the party of the people, and renew its fight to stand up for the hardworking, law-abiding, good-hearted patriotic men and women who have been shut out of the corridors of power for far too long.

I stand with the vast majority of Americans, who believe that Washington has become a fossilized town that is sickeningly out of touch with an America that hungers for leaders who lead, a Congress that acts and a president who stops telling voters they need teachable moments from him and starts listening to what voters, including many of his friends, are telling him.

The president has gone rogue. And Democrats. And Republicans. And everyone in this capital with eyes that don’t see and ears that don’t hear what an unhappy nation is telling them. Voters pray for action, but all they hear is self-praise from those who don’t listen, and all they see is vanity and self-indulgence from those who don’t care.

<snip>

Throughout the nation there is outrage in the land, revolution in the air, insurrection in the wind from the left, right and center. The political ground is shaking from gale-force winds of a national demand for powerful change in the way our corrupted and tone-deaf capital does business.

Regarding the Democrats, Frank Rich nailed it in the Sunday New York Times about the party that seems determined to lose an election without really trying. Democrats can stand up and fight, or stand pat and lose.

Democrats should spend the week before Labor Day fighting and voting for American jobs. The Democratic base should rouse like a volcano and vote on Election Day, because it is too early for the dream to die, and then convene a national midterm convention for the Democratic wing of the Democratic Party.

There is revolution in the air. The epic political question of our times is who will lead it.

3. maybe
but i think the lethargy has already set in.
and who would lead it anyway, i don't think there's a politician
from either party that garners enough trust with voters.

11. That's a nail-hitter, alright!
I think the last of the highest hopes for WE THE PEOPLE was put forth in Nov 2008 in a fabulous, momentous night, but in the end, corporations are still the king. It's hard for me to get excited about any future election, and I'm sure I'm not alone. I am very saddened to feel that way. Mad and disgusted at the same time. It sucks to lose faith in politicians for the final time. But I have something positive to say and that is, the answer is not some politician. The answer is us. The answer is You.

By making little choices that have big consequences we CAN change things. Our future is no longer up to politicians. Pretty soon, they will realize they've lost us, domino effect, and then real change, maybe not so good at first- but then it will blossom into something permanently sustaining.

Call out the instigators
Because there's something in the air
We've got to get together sooner or later
Because the revolution's here, and you know it's right
And you know that it's right

We have got to get it together
We have got to get it together now

Edit to add: I'm old, but the spark is still there.

5. Recommend on that but you know the wrong side is prepared for that.
If I were Obama I'd be courting every single person who voted for me instead of letting my staff insult them. The left is not strong and cohesive enough to lead it. If it comes I sincerely believe it will be the teabaggers leading it. None of us need that.

It began with one Sheriff speaking with other Sheriffs about their oaths to uphold the constitution. A new movement is growing in this country in support of limited government, constitutional principles, states rights and a stronger role for sheriffs to play against federal abuse of power. In this 3-part video interview with Tony DeMeo, Sheriff of Nye County, Nevada, he explains that he is a Constitutional Sheriff and that authority for public office holders is derived from the people.

In his own words Sheriff Tony DeMeo describes an incident where federal agents of the BLM threaten him with arrest while the Sheriff issues his own threats of an armed response if illegal seizures of private property in his county continue. Imagine if BLM authorities went ahead with their “normal” operations of seizing cattle found on public property in direct opposition to Sheriff Tony DeMeo warnings? We would witness a standoff with dire consequences.

I know they are freepers but, this is a sign up uprising

Edited on Wed Aug-11-10 05:24 PM by opihimoimoi
Its them fuckers that got us in this mess and we wanna go back to them?

Should we back Palin...or Mitt....or Rudy?:??

Can we do better w Huckee?

I think not as they haven't offered any real solutions/ideas/concepts of any merit lately

Cynics, Critics, and Mimics = the GOP idiots who backed BUSH for 8 years and now attack the DEMs for every NIT they can find to pick up and use....

GOP = Nit Pickers
