I think that Obama has tolerated some pretty inartful comments himself.
I won't name names or specifics, because my point is not to bring the conflicts back; instead it's the opposite. Some people and their associates had made some inartful comments during the primary season that he not only was willing to forget, but he also turned around and gave them the spoils of his victory.

I'm not calling to re-divide DU over these things and I don't even want to talk about them or what they may or may not have meant; what I'm saying is, maybe you should put some of these comments behind you as well and try to work from here.

Something many of us should do as well.

4. The point isn't the comments themselves
It is the underlying reason for the comments. That reason has been there, and is still there, and ignoring it won't make the problem go away. To a great degree it is because it is being ignored that it is such a problem. The "from here" from which you want to work IS that underlying problem.

6. Gibbs has taught you well in the innuendo department
You want to bring up (bringing up is by definition bringing up, despite the disclaimer that you are bringing it up not to bring it up) a series of smears of racism executed by, among others, Mister Gibbs against someone who we know is not a racist because if she were Obama would surely not have made her Secretary of State.

They were smears.

Obama never believed she had a racist bone in her body.

It was political expediency.

And now you cite these smears as evidence Obama is forgiving and thus we should be forgiving of being smeared by the same operation?

Wow!

7. I thought that came with the job. Any man from either side who thinks
he can get by without inartful comments needs to rethink running.

Is inartful even a word? It does not pass spellcheck.

17. The point is the inartful comments were not directed at Republicans
and You said people from either side make such comments. My comment was I thought we were supposed to be on the same side. I realize now Liberals have another side of opposition to them, no longer just Republicans that oppose them.

8. You mean from guys like Limbaugh & Beck? Those guys?
How about Boehner or McConnell or any one of a dozen or so members of Congress?

I am struggling to recall when the Obama people ever called out Rush or Beck as "druggies" worthy of testing. No, the fact is that the Obama people have reserved their scorn for their base.
