I heard an interesting assertion on C-span this morning concerning Lobbying
A fellow being interviewed on a Cspan program this morning said something that caught my ear. I don't know if its true or not but if so it sure is a startling thing. He said that the US Chamber of Commerce spent more for lobbying last year than the combined salaries of every member of the House of Representatives and the Senate. It did not sound at all implausible.

5. I could see that.
The Chamber Of Commerce is little more than a Repub front organization as it is. I would believe they are buried in lobbying.

7. I heard the same thing yesterday on a
local progressive talk show. Didn't Obama campaign to change the way Washington does business? Since the Republicans want to repeal the 14th Amendment why don't the Democrats offer up a new one to stop lobbying, that is something even the Teabaggers could support.
