More sensible liberalsism from the rock star icon of woodchuck sensibility in the U.S. House of Representatives:

9. What's a Woodhuck? AFAIK, it has always been Dennis' policy not to primary a sitting (D) President.
Not sure that makes him a 'woodhuck.'

10. A woodchuk is a liberal who is pragmatic about trying to effect change.
Like, for example, a woodchuck would try to get as much progress as could be had in the current situation rather than make an ultimatum to try to get more. It's from the Tom Tommorow comic strip This Modern World and I thought it was a pretty compelling concept. After all, once you get some progress, then you have some, and you can start right away to try to get more.

11. Spellcheck is your friend. Embracing it would be pragmatic.
Compromise for the sake of real progress is acceptable. Poor negotiating where you come out with far less than you gave up is not. We see a lot of that these days.

12. I don't think he ever said he was.
Gibbs, people in the press, and others don't seem to understand principled disagreement and instead had rather throw dispersions.

22. Like the people in this thread who make childish comments about a typo
instead of forming an intelligent response. They appear to have a hard time understanding principled disagreement.

19. I always knew Dennis would not run against an
incumbent Democratic Party President. He knows how the politics of this works and that it would make it more likely that we could get a Republican in 2012 if Obama is challenged by members of his own party.
