Former WWE wrestler Lance Cade was found dead in his father's home in San Antonio Thursday. Cade, who's real name is Lance McNaught, was 29 and "passed away of apparent heart failure," according to a statement on the WWE website.

Cabe's "death could affect" former WWE CEO Linda McMahon's (R) run for Senate in Connecticut, J.B. Porsche, executive director of the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee, tweeted Saturday.

McMahon, who clinched the GOP Senate nod last Tuesday, has been dogged by questions about how the WWE treats its wrestlers. Five performers have died while under contract with the company and several more, including McNaught, died shortly after they left the WWE's employ.

McMahon was pressed about the problems in the wrestling business during a recent interview with ABC News, but she quickly directed the conversation back to politics.

Chris Benoit and Owen Hart's death's are particularly tragic. Benoit was a murder suicide and Hart was from a fall suspended from a cable during a match.

A hell of a lot of heart attacks, drug overdoses, asleep at the wheels, etc. Appears to be a lot of occupational hazards to Pro Wrestling. A lot more than I realized.

I wonder what Jesse Ventura has to say about Linda's run?

3. Yup, boxers and UFC fighters don't drop dead liek this

Even juicehead cyclists and track athletes don't, so what the hell are tehy doing to the WWE guys?

4. I am thinking a lot of steroids and hormone abuse, along with speed.

That and the physical beating and the stress of the constant travel and living on the road...
and for most, the money is not that good and the "career" is short, with no benefits after the glamor is gone.

Even pro football players have serious health problems in their later years, and they have a players association and decent contracts.

Wrestlers have none of that - all the really big money goes to the promoters, and alot
of this situation is due to the McMahon family.

They seem quite typical for American Corporations. They think they're the only ones that should be making any money and have found ways to transfer the wealth of their workers toward their managers and executives. It appears their talent is treated like expendable chattel pretty much like the rest of us trying to eke out a living in modern American working life.

6. Not to mention their monopoly...

Where for years the McMahons have publicly gloated about buying and shutting down a LOT competitors' companies. That's how they went global in the first place, and the hostile takeover/close the doors policy has never wavered once. They're very proud of their record of destructive business practices, and I personally don't see how she would govern in any less a despicable manner considering she and other members of her family have bragged about it.

8. Right Jimmy - when a wrestler's popularity numbers decline, they disappear

with whatever they have been able to put aside and nothing more.

I'd assume the McMahons have similar plans for all of us...

Hulk Hogan, still involved with TNA (same issues at 50+)
I could go on and on, but back in the day when wrestlers didn't made squat, they wrestled into their 50s as well.

7. The True Price Of "Fame"...

You point out some very important points and may I add a couple more.

Many of these wrestlers come from obscurity. Unlike football or basketball players who are in the spotlight from their mid teens on, wrestlers start at the lowest rungs. Kinda like the modern day version of vaudville...hoping to get a shot at the big time. McMahon has long preyed on the stars in the eyes in many of these kids and they become almost a property of his...he can build 'em up, he can break 'em down. Thus the pressure to "enhance" performance takes many shapes...from the "acting" to the juicing. And that doesn't take into account any other "stimulation"...alcohol, cocaine or some other "pain reducing" substance.

The interesting aspect of this race is to see if the McMahon marketing touch works in the political ring...
