6. It's was in Pittsburgh.
But don't come here to piss on it. The original building has been gone since the 19th century and you'd only be urinating on a Chinese Restaurant.

Edited on Mon Aug-16-10 06:42 PM by Recursion
Depending on whether you count state or county parties. But a lot of Free-Soilers more or less independently started calling themselves "Republican", which was the original name of the party now (and then) called Democratic.

17. Alabama seceded upon the election of a Republican President
And was entirely controlled by the Democratic party at that point. Republicans only made it onto the ballot at the end of a bayonet during Reconstruction.

23. ... (joke)
I was referring to Alabama more as a present day ideology, and not so much as a state.

And so yes, I know that the GOP was the party of Lincoln, and that the Democrats (particularly Southern Democrats) opposed the Civil rights movement.

And the Alabama mind set drives the GOP to this day.

18. I know a really nice lady who lives in Ripon Wisconsin
She voted for Obama in 2008. It was the first time she had voted for a Democrat for president and she is up there in age. If you know what day you will be pissing on Ripon please let me know so I can tell her to stay inside.
