In a world where vengeance is a sacrament, everyone loses
Every society has "bad things" in their past..things that are commemorated throughout time, so that "new" members are filled in & can continue the grievances into perpetuity..

Neener-neener-I'm gonna get-choo-back someday is not a great way to live..

The children of your enemy just become the enemies of your children.

Humans are funny...not!

1. Strange, someone posting this tonight...
I just said about the same thing to my husband after watching someone on TV talking about "I'll get them back."

Sigh. Too tired for teh vengeance, myself.

Excellent and insightful post, SoCalDem.

4. Sometimes the best way to catch someone, is to not chase them so obviously
and we only proved to the rest of the world, that cave & box-cutter trumps mega-military:(

and we have not exactly caught him yet , have we?

is he even still alive:)

7. If you recall, in the immediate aftermath of 9-11 the whole world was with us..truly
and even Syria & Libya turned in "bad guys" *& were willing to do more... until... well you get the drift.

We don;t HAVE to "do it all"..and do it the bully-way.. That effort has been rather fruitless for a very long time..

Since WWII, we have more or less "lost" every military adventure, and at great cost..in dollars, blood & lost good-will.

6. Justice and Vengeance Are Two Different Things

Vengeance tends to have broad targets, and poor aim.

3. Vengeance is a human emotional response.
And no, not our best one.
