Hat tricks?
Those of us who live in the west are used to seeing cowboy hats. In my neighborhood, they tend to be worn by men who do ride a horse while tending to cattle. I'll confess to sometimes going weak in the knees upon seeing the right combination of hat and jeans and boots. My oh my.

And then I'll see Dick Armey and wonder why he's got an inverted bedpan on his head.

1. I spend a lot of time outside and I often wear one of those hats
The wide brim keeps the sun off my face and neck after I had three little skin cancer thingies removed.

But every time I go to the store some wiseass yells "hey Tex, where's your horse" or some other pearl of wisdom.

3. The proper response to someone who says, "Hey, Tex, where's your horse".

You say: "At your house, fucking your wife."

2. I have had several over the years....
....and I have the boots, too! It's hot in Texas in the summer and a cowboy hat gives you a little more shade than a cap. I haven't ridden a horse now in several years, but when i was younger, I broke a few horses, rode a couple of bulls (don't try it)
and I have worked a lot of cattle, cutting, de-horning, branding, etc. No one gives it a second thought here. Cowboys are a proud bunch, and some just like the look. I have seen some of the most butt-ugly hats you can imagine, but some of them guys will fight for their hats. Everyone to his own.

4. But it's so clear why he SHOULD have an inverted bed pan on his head:
particularly if it were full before landing there.

;-)
