THIS IS GOOD NEWS!!!!
Edited on Wed Aug-18-10 07:00 PM by nadinbrzezinski
even if for some folks this is not.

There is more... THIS IS A PROMISE KEPT.

I know that is hard to understand, but IT IS.

I know that there are still 50K people left behind, by the SOFA they should be leaving NEXT YEAR.

Now this is history... and I am sure that right now this is not sinking in or will sink in for some folks.

Now if we can do the same thing in that little quagmire in Central Asia...

1. That is why it is only being covered by MSNBC
The others will not show good Obama news.

11. Fox's website had the breaking news before CNN - go figure. CNN is covering
it now, too, and I've gotten a lot of e-mail alerts from several sources. MSNBC was the only network that was aware of the date and allowed to have reporters on the ground with the troops. The government kept it secret and fittingly, gave the exclusive to MSNBC.

about their future and their country. damn 7 years, I wish we would get out of the war business.

13. This is great news!!!
Sure, the pissing-brigade's gonna diss and dismiss it - they're so emotionally invested in hating Obama that they'll refuse to acknowledge good news when they see it.

But as for me, I'm celebrating!

 :toast: :bounce:  :fistbump: :headbang: :yourock: :woohoo: :applause:

19. I am critical when he deserves it (see Arne Duncan for example)
but this is a promise kept. So yes this is to celebrate.

Oh and very different from seven years ago when they went through the line of departure.

15. This is the only sort of thing that might eventually act as a deodorant
for this country in the middle east, that we left when we agreed to.

Just think how horrible it would have been if Gramps had gotten into office. Not only would that agreement have been the first thing in the shredder, we'd likely have expanded the war by now with no end in sight, ever.

Remember, he promised staying there for 100 years.

17. When Keith's show offically started, I flipped over to
see if CNN was covering it. They were. So then I flipped to Fox. O Reilly was talking about the Ground Zero Mosque. I turned back to Fox 10 minutes later, and they were still talking about the mosque. Figures.

mercenaries.

Until such time the Iraq war persists.

20. yeah...it is..
i ripped him a few mos ago and i'm still critical of the privatization of education and extremely worried about the cat food commission but i've recently been a beneficiary of one of those minor incrimentalist domestic policy changes and..while I'm really wishing gibbs would shut up about the left that helped elect him obama is not a clinton nor a bush nor a reagan..he's sort of a incrimentalist progressive covered with a large layer of centrist frosting and pseudo leftist loathing to placate the authoritarian right

i hope this will be a good sign for our domestic economy which is hurting so bad now

23. It's unreal and very understated
but if it's over, I'm glad. The war should have never been started in the first place, and it damn sure should not have lasted 7+ years.
