1. For some reason I like those web pages that look like they are from 1997.
I am actually not kidding. I remember surfing the web back then and thinking like "this is a neat little cheap aesthetic".

My favorite is Gordon Hutchins' site:

I sort of love it! :hi:

3. And there's a web hit counter at the bottom too, that's great.
It's funny that he's got so many words on that page, and in the midst of it there's some things about supporting conservative values and being against Obama, and yet he manages to say very little about what he'd actually like to do.

Even he admits to the dated look:

4. Here's another confession
I think Basil Marceaux's site is sweet and touching.

I mean, he's just a dude who wants to be heard. Frankly, in these days of slick, cynical campaign sites, these homestyle candidates at least build their own damned pages. I gotta respect that.

5. No fair, that's his "old" site...
"UPDATE: This is my old campaign page for the 2008 election cycle; it is outdated, but I'm leaving it up as a source of cool ideas for the current crop of candidates and elected officials."

Oooh, maybe someone can snag that cool midi file, and use it on their campaign page too!
