Why can't there be a spot on DU for solidarity democrats?
Why is there no place on here where those of us who want to get behind and rally around democrat candidates exist. I'm sick of coming here after any minor or major democrat accomplishment and seeing 50 to 200 responses mocking them.

I mean there are mid terms afoot and for those who want to sit home and not vote, fine. But what about those of us that truly want to get behind maintaining a democrat majority in both houses. We shouldn't be tossed aside.

DU should be a place where, liberals, progressives, moderates, "solidarity democrats" - all democrats have a place to share their views without the feeling of being marginalized.

3. I really don't think DUers want to see the dems lose either house.
Since we are a vocal and diverse group here, there are lots of differing points of view. I guess I am a "solidarity democrat" too, and I never felt marginalized here. That does not mean that I agree with every democrat on every issue, however. Dems will never march lockstep like the repukes!

Everyone has a right to express their opinions here, as long as they follow the guidelines of civil behavior.

6. So you want a "no criticism" forum?
I mean, you could probably talk to Skinner, dunno how'd he'd enforce it. Probably just have to do alot of deletes, possibly "permanently" banning certain members from certain groups (if he can actually do that). I'm not sure what the point would be. You're basically describing an echo chamber. "Only hear what I want to hear" kind of thing. Probably best taken up with Skinner.

9. Respectfully disagree.
I think it would be an error to put the group that you identify into a separate space on DU. It seems better to have open and honest debate of the many complex issues that democrats face, for all to see and participate in. I would, of course, prefer that people be a bit less hostile in general. There is plenty of room for differing opinions.

11. What would be the point?
If everyone agreed, where's the discussion?

Wouldn't it be a group full of nothing but high fives and "I agree"?

What do we learn from people who only agree with us?

Borrr-ing!!!!

12. I think that would actually exacerbate the division
After all, who gets to say who is a "solidarity democrat" and who is not?
It's not as clear-cut as you might think: How much criticism is tolerated before someone is designated a non-"solidarity democrat"?

And, IMO, that creates a very short path to accusations that those designated "non-solidarity democrats" are DINOs or not Democrats at all. And that's not going to help anybody.
