Can someone please give the Muslim definition of a mosque ?

Yes, I know I could do Google/Wikipedia, but I'd like to hear from a Muslim. The RW keeps calling Park51/Cordoba House/"Ground Zero Mosque" a mosque. Thanks in advance for your time.

That naturally makes it NOT A MOSQUE.

It is legally allowed to be a mosque.

This is a stupid semantic argument.

The building as a whole is a community center with a lot of different functions.

Within the building is a room for muslims to pray, which by definition is a mosque.

I understand that some people want to "frame the debate" that this is not really a mosque, but trying to reframe the debate, IMO, is fucking futile.

Same goes for ground zero. If you want to call ground zero the footprint of WTC1, 2, and 7. Then no it's not ground zero. If you want to define it as all the buildings directly damaged in 9-11, then it is.

Not it matters. The building is what it is, and the bigots is bigots.

I was just asking an innocent question. I'm not Muslim. I do not know what their definition is. As far as I care, it could be a thirty story mosque. I don't care. First Amendment is First Amendment.

It doesn't need to have an onion dome or big minarets. In fact, mosques are often just big open rooms.

Churches are places where Christians pray.

Synagogues are places where Jews pray.

These are not complicated definitions or subject of much debate.
