There IS another reason to support the Cordoba House
no, not just the First Amendment, or the fact that they have followed every requirement on the way to get all that's needed.

You all complaint that the democrats don't have a spine? Well, is it the democrats, or is it us? Yes... how many times will the right wing snarl and everybody accommodate them? This is a good a line in the sand as anywhere else.

Oh and on a personal note I am sorry to see how easily manipulated some people are, even here. Not surprised, mind you, fear is powerful. Just sorry.

So that is a good reason too. We need to draw a line on the damn sand and finally PUSH back to all the BS the RIGHT uses to gin up faux scandals.

1. I agree. I think we need to hit back hard on this one
and remind everyone of what this country stands for.

This dialogue on bigotry was supposed to open up more when Obama was elected, but thus far I haven't seen much review of our principles. This is a good opportunity.

3. It is a good a line as any
and it is not just about core principles, but the fact that they chose that fight helps. It will tell us just how much people believe in them, or not.

4. It is easy to get into topics that don't matter.
or to follow the media narratives.

And everyone does it a bit.

Like your post though. Actually removing peoples automatic credibility they assign to things they see on TV might be a better way to do it. Since the problem is that purchased megaphone.

Although it creates a state of not knowing what is what, it is better then thinking something untrue is real.

So it is the concept of it can not be done right, it should not be done at all, and credibility of those sectors have to be removed. At some time people will have to really think about what is correct.

I am fairly sure dissembling reality would have the same effect, although its pretty crazy at times. Then rebuilding it once better. Logically that makes sense. Since in truth reality was already dissembled by false stories and things out of perspective. So the dissembling of that is actually building a better system. But that is just best guess.

5. That is part of it
after all we now have volumes on the Right WIng Echo Machine. the left was a weak version of that. but we must make a stand. This scandal will go away as soon as it no longer serves a purpose, aka the day after the election. So it is time people realize how this works, how the game is played and partly refuse to play it.

6. This is one where I think we should draw the line
it actually plays to Obamas strength if he gets into it, and its the right thing to do for our country.

7. He already did on Friday
but the line on the sand has to be drawn... and a severe pushback has to start.
