Poll question: How Long Does It Take for a Fox News Fabrication to Be Covered By the Rest of the Media?
Edited on Thu Aug-19-10 07:10 PM by David Zephyr
Fox News now creates the news that it then reports through either its properties of the New York Post, the Wall Street Journal, the Weekly Standard, its radio celebrities like Glen Bekkk and Sean Hannity, and of course Fox Cable News. They just make the shit up and then run with it. I've learned to accept it. It's part of our new American culture. No surprise anymore.

But what raises my eyebrows is how quickly the rest of American news outlets follow-up, in lock step, making the Fox story their own lead stories, too.

It doesn't seem like it takes too long now for the Fox "headline" or "issue" to become every other news organizations headline and issue.

How long does it take for a Fox fabricated story to be carried by the rest of the media? You tell me.

2. I've voted 2 days on average, but it depends on the "story" of course.
What I have noticed is that it's been getting a lot quicker lately.

3. It used to take a few months, then a month, then a few weeks,
then a week, then a few days, now it's a matter of hours.

Its a trend I have been noticing too. Several people have written books on the subject. The first one that opened my eyes was the David Brooks book a few years ago.

We live in the age of mind control in which reality is created for us, facts be damned.

You can see a clear example of it with the current Obama is really a muslim thing.

If you keep repeating something day in and day out, it becomes the reality. Get a small group of people to make noise on something and then report on the group no matter how wacky because it's "news". The rest of the media then picks it up as news and there you go.

Welcome to the 21st century. The century of virtual reality.

5. Who said this?

If you tell a lie big enough and keep repeating it, people will eventually come to believe it. The lie can be maintained only for such time as the State can shield the people from the political, economic and/or military consequences of the lie. It thus becomes vitally important for the State to use all of its powers to repress dissent, for the truth is the mortal enemy of the lie, and thus by extension, the truth is the greatest enemy of the State.”

See http://thinkexist.com/quotation/-if_you_tell_a_lie_big_enough_and_keep_repeating/345877.html">here for the answer.

7. I think you are correct.
It did used to take longer.

Roger Ailes should just fax his lead stories to the rest of the American media so they'll provide their "Amen" to Fox even quicker.
