DNC meeting rundown so far...
Edited on Fri Aug-20-10 12:14 PM by whirlygigspin
In case your not one of those who are actually watching the DNC meeting live,

Tim Kaine just finished up and the audience seemed to barely have the energy to clap for more than a few seconds.

His great plan seems to be to try and scare people into voting for them by telling them how bad republicans will be if they win.

He surprisingly said that he was going to 'grow the grassroots' and that's how they will win, good idea.

Governor Nixon, of Missouri came on next and proudly announced:

"isn't it nice to have a DNC chairman who isn't mocked daily on all three major networks"

Claire McCaskill just crawled up on stage, hasn't insulted anyone yet, oops, I spoke too soon...now mocking the press for pointing out that congress is unpopular.

--tepid response measured by applause: if that is any indication, we're in deep do do for November if all they can say is that they have fulfilled their role's as guardians of middle class morality and respectability.

1. Those are jabs at Michael Steele, not Howard Dean.
Please, get a grip.

not sure who each one was referring to in each case.

4. It's hard to tell the difference between them, the last day or two.

5. Michael Steele is a disgraceful buffoon that the Democrats
love to mock. Republicans hate him.

7. If it was the press that mocks Michael Steele you might have a point -
but the press pretty much sucks his dick. It is the Dems and a fair number of extreme right republicans who mock him, not the press.

This was no doubt an weaselly slap at Dean, who the press DID mock.

3. Kaine has no idea how to grow the grassroots
and he abandoned the policies of the man who did.

Excuse me if I'm aroused to as much of a wild apathy as the audience was.

8. Kaine has yet to inspire me as Dean did.
I felt like my work in my red state mattered with Dean. Kaine would like my money, but my state has been relegated to the bin of hopelessness.

Dean was building a future for our party. I get the same vibes from Kaine as I did from Axelrod. As in ...

they gave up on us.

So my first reaction is to say, well fuck them too.
