Sarah Palin has decided to jump on the defend Dr. Laura bandwagon. Whining about free speech and such. For starters she really needs to learn what the constitution meant by free speech. Anywhoo, I guess she's forgotten what she said back in Feb. after Rahm Emanuel used the term "retarded" someone should refresh her memory...

Palin In February: We'd Be 'Appalled' If Public Figure Used "N-Word"

Sarah Palin continues to defend Dr. Laura Schlessinger's use of the word "n****r" and blame liberals for forcing the controversial conservative radio show off the air. But just a few months ago Palin was adamant that using the "N-word," and other offensive terms, should be a firing offense...if you're a Democrat.

"I would ask the president to show decency in this process by eliminating one member of inner circle, Mr. Rahm Emanuel," Palin wrote in February. "The Obama Administration's Chief of Staff scolded calling them, 'F---ing retarded,' according to several participants, as reported in the Wall Street Journal. Just as we'd be appalled if any public figure of Rahm's stature ever used the "N-word" or other such inappropriate language, Rahm's slur on all God's children with cognitive and developmental disabilities - and the people who love them - is unacceptable, and it's heartbreaking."

Fast forward to last night, when Palin had a change of heart.

"Dr.Laura:don't retreat...reload! (Steps aside bc her 1st Amend.rights ceased 2exist thx 2activists trying 2silence"isn't American, not fair")," Palin wrote in an inscrutable Tweet.

So, just so we're clear, according to Palin, Dr. Laura should "reload not retreat". But critics of Dr. Laura should sit down and shut up. It's peachy keen that Glenn Beck calls the President a racist, and then uses MLK's "I have a dream speech" date, to further rub salt into the wound (yup, nothing tasteless about that)and on and on..

However, Park51 should not happen, Rahm E. (yes what he said was wrong) should be fired, any woman that doesn't agree with her are part of "cackle of rads", not a peep out of her on the "who let the dogs out video", etc etc.

Does anyone see a pattern here? Palin will not stand for dissent, it's her way or no way. Could you imagine what would happen if this woman ever got near the Presidency?

You think the free speech zones W had were bad, you ain't seen nothing yet. You think the news is shit now, she'd find a way to duck all news except Fox, which would only paint her in a positive light. Sad, but there are people out there who would think this is fine, Even sadder, is that it's the same people screaming about their rights. Imagine that.

1. She is appealing to her base...and their baseness...
They feel, like Dr. Laura, that they can use the N word because Chris Rock uses it. Though they do miss a few fine points of distinction about how they mean it and how Chris means it.

3. Yea, you're right...
that's part of the problem. But it's not the n word per se, it goes deeper than that.

The fact that she has an issue with Park51 being built because it stabs the heart of Americans, and it's insensitive versus Glenn Beck and the MLK thing. He called the first African American president a racist and then does that. People are objecting to it, she doesn't give a shit that it offends or stabs these people in the heart.

She tweeted about the term "feminist" being hi-jacked by a cackle of rads" and then remains silent on the "who let the dogs out video".

She blasted Rahm E. for using the word "retarded" cuz it's insensitive, but let's have all the free speech you can swallow on the "n" word.

It's her double standard, it's that she will not tolerate dissent. This is how she would govern, and that's a very scary thought. There's no room for any other view/opinion than her own. Large segments of the population would be completely ignored, maybe even punished in some way for speaking out. They're already talking (the re-thugs)about constitutional changes, can you imagine what kinds of things she'd want to change. She sees things a certain way and in her mind that's the only way.

Sometimes I think we dismiss how dangerous she could be and that she could be a potential threat to the Dems. God help us if she's ever gets to the presidency.
