Why don't more DUers contribute monthly through PayPal?
Edited on Fri Aug-20-10 09:26 PM by Elwood P Dowd
I realize the economy is tough, but I'm living on Social Security and a little part-time income (less than $1,600.00 a month for both), so a small monthly donation through PayPal works for me. When my PayPal balance gets low, I will just sell a few of the 1,000+ LPs or CDs I don't listen to anymore, and that will cover a few more months of DU contributions.

2. I do one monthly donation a month
to a local food bank. http://www.foodbankrockies.org

I usually contribute to the DU fund drives, but the food bank is a higher priority.

3. Same here I try to balance the donations to DU
And also to charities. I wish I could afford to give monthly.

4. You can set it up to give as little as $5.00 a month.
I give a little to DU and the food bank at Christmas time. That's about the best I can do.

5. It's real simple. I donate when I have a Job and an income.
I don't donate when I'm broke. I have been out of work for so long over the last few years, and have spent so much catching up when I did have a job that 20.00 might as well be $20,000.000.

I have been a donating member here since the selection but I can only do what I can do. Sorry.

Bud

7. Some of us don't even have the 1000+ records
Some are down to their last disposable income.

Then, you have to depend on the kindness of DU strangers.

8. I live on disability
and I have no money, period. I try to donate to as many charities as I can, and DU isn't my first priority--that "honor" goes to ASPCA, HSUS, ARL, and other rescue groups. It boils down to about $10-$20 a month, and means I eat less, if necessary.

I also don't like automatic payments. While I pay my bills online, something might come up that requires immediate cash, and as I have no other money coming in, it's difficult to just get through a month.

9. Right around the time I started to feel somewhat financially stable, the recession hit....
I was laid off twice, worked short term contracts, and finally got my stable job back. After several months back, I finally added my monthly donation back. Actually, I had started a monthly donation right before my world went downhill... then had to stop it... and then just recently re-started.

10. I'm feeding two
batches of feral cats. Don't have money to feed them and donate to DU, too. I chose the cats.
