These are tough times we are in. The GOP is throwing every crazy thing they've got at the Dems in an effort to re-gain the power they couldn't handle during the Bush regime. We've got a President who (in my opinion) is still feeling his way and being pulled in a dozen different directions. We've got crisis' all around us needing immediate attention, and a Dem party that still doesn't realize (tho they've gotten a LOT better) that they have been targeted for destruction by well-moneyed unscrupulous Conservatives.

We need each other. We need to take the position that the Dems work for us, and stop acting like victims. I welcomed the "professional Left" remark, because it means we are having an impact. People always seem to underestimate their own power. Perhaps it's more comfortable feeling victimized and betrayed. But it's a dead end street.

18. Ya know I was thinkin' about the numbers

Assuming that donations run slightly more than the target of 1,000 because landing right on the nose is impossible, it still roughly maths out to 1% of the total DU population participating in these fundraisers each time they do one. So it's maybe 5% in the course of a year that contribute?
:) I'd think we could do better than that. $35.00 a year is roughly a dime, a mere .10 cents per day for DU. So dig deeper folks (those who haven't ever ponied up)and lets help each other here at DU :party:
