This is what i get for helping a right wingers dog
Edited on Sun Aug-22-10 10:49 PM by vercetti2021
"

Him and his ugly ass girlfriend or wife went on vacation, left there dog out in the triple digit heat with no food or water, animal neglect first thing, and disturbance because she barked all night long, went over there with water and food, and left, came home one evening and the bowl was on my drive way with that message on it, and i don't know how he could have known it was me, unless he's the insecure type of conservative with camera's all over his property.

Goes to show what a good liberal does for his neighbor, even if he is a conservative wing-nut, I'm the type of liberal you do not piss off, he's lucky i didn't slap a puck threw his back window of his house for that one.

One day i know he will push me or my step dad over and well, shit can happen, because i do not put up with tea party morons, PERIOD!

Pass this on if you are called a extremist next time and we'll see who the real nut cases are.

EDIT: I did call the police and animal control, cops came and did nothing but talk to him and probably denied it, and not once came over to talk to me or my family about it, and animal control, haven't heard from them yet.

1. Sounds like the type who would take it out on the dog. Make a call to authorities - the dog IS in
danger and needs to be protected.

4. You may want to talk to the police.
Yes, technically, you were trespassing, but animal neglect and what you did for that animal will, in a sense, supersede that. The response from your neighbor was way out of proportion. And it was pretty threatening.

5. Report him to Animal Control for animal cruelty
Edited on Sun Aug-22-10 10:40 PM by Hawkeye-X
Leaving a dog without a food and water while on vacation without someone to look after it is cruelty to animals and needs to be banned from ever owning animals ever again.

If you documented the animal cruelty, then the owner will have no choice but to pay a hefty fine and surrender control of the dog.

That freeper is a fuckwit to the nth degree.

animal's well-being, but the Humane Society is.

Making this public can and should at least embarrass the cops and animal control.

6. People should care for animals.
Edited on Sun Aug-22-10 10:41 PM by RandomThoughts
I often think on that, I think that is part of empathy circles. Can you extend it even into animals and such, and some do. And they do have feelings and deserve much love also.

In some way, hurting an animal is even worse then hurting a person, since they need help from people.

9. Whew.
I gave a free newspaper subscription I had to a Republican neighbor down the street as a goodwill gesture. Next thing I knew she was knocking at the door wondering what I "meant" by it (we both know each others' politics from yard signs). I said, "It was a free subscription so it's just a gift." She turned around and walked away...couldn't bring herself to say "thank you".

I honestly do feel sorry for them, they will never be happy.

Even if he denies everything you need to get this on the record. If he leaves the dog in that condition call the cops and have THEM bring Animal Control and tell them he threatened to shoot you the last time this happened. If he brings a gun to that party he'll get more than he bargained for.

104. You don't use a firearm unless you or another person are attacked ...
and the result of the attack could be serious injury or death.

This situation can be handled by less extreme measures.

However, if I had a neighbor like this and didn't own a gun, I would consider taking a good class on firearm safety, buying a firearm for self defense and spending enough time on a range to become proficient with the weapon. Never take threats lightly. Rational people don't run around making threats.

He could be this absolute tool while being firmly and avowedly apolitical. He could even be left-wing on most issues, but be a total asshole as a person. He may even be a Neanderthal fuckwit too damned stupid to have any political philosophy. No party or political movement or orientation has a monopoly on jerks.

Or maybe his ugly ass girlfriend or wife was the one who wrote it. She could very well be the "brains" of their relationship, that is to say, the one who can write.

22. Call the media; get TV to run a story on why animal control and the cops won't do anything
to protect you or that poor neglected dog. A story in the press may prod them into filing charges and they can say they were just taking time to "investigate" and save face.

Trust me, as a media member, I have seen this tactic make officials do the right thing many times.

That's my planned solution to any of my asshat neighbors who neglect their dogs. (Also to the asshat who tried to run *my* dogs over in my driveway.

Scoop them up when nobody is looking, take them to a no-kill shelter as far away as conveniently possible and drop them off there.

63. I didn't assume you hated any of those groups.
I do think it's just assumed that it's okay to make unexamined comments that perpetuate negative stereotypes about those groups.

It drives me away from liberals because it's generally just accepted that those people should accept being the doormats or the butts of insults. It's accepted even when they aren't directly the people we're mad at. If I pick up on an underlying - subconscious even - sentiment that women's worth comes from whether they are fuckable (based on looks), it pushes me away from the people making those comments, just as when Obama had his homophobic friend speak at his inauguration, that shoved me a little further left (and away) from him.

42. What an ass

and also on a side note:

If some of you will read the entire OP - vs. only looking at the pictures - before you reply, we wouldn't have a dozen people tell the OP to call the cops when in the OP he clearly stated that he called the cops.

Yeah, I'm grumpy, but pleeze, people....

Take the time to read that he edited it, so the calling the cops part wasn't there at first.

And do yourself a favor: type up a summary of events, get it notarized, and save it with save the bowl with the threat, in case you ever need to establish at pattern of behavior

54. You have to follow up with animal control or the cops.
Ask for a copy of the police report. They won't do anything unless they know someone is paying attention.

Oh, and try not to let the @sshole shoot you. :)

I can't believe the moron would actually threaten you for helping his dog. The dog is just another piece of property to him. I don't think he cares if it lives or dies. Teabaggers just love to OWN things. It gives them power.

Now a classy person would have sent you a gift for helping, or at least say THANK YOU.

85. He needs to be reported...
...a dog barking all night is a legitimate nuisance and he should be cited for that.

More importantly is the animal neglect aspect, of course. Leaving the dog without food and water in triple digit temperatures is certainly animal abuse. Again, he should be cited for that and the dog possibly taken away.

I don't envy you, having a lunatic neighbor like that.

87. You have to report the threat against you to the police -
and I would call the local SPCA about the dog (or some kind of local dog humane group who may be able to help). I wouldn't call animal control in this state, the death rates in the shelters are too high.

I did a search and found these folks - http://www.amarillohumanesociety.net/

I would try them since they are a no-kill group that's at least in your region. Someone in the office there might have some ideas.

Thanks for caring about the creatures.

91. That's sad - I guess I would try calling the police
and animal control then. Anything to end that poor dog's suffering - I know the heat down here and nothing should be chained out in the yard.

The shelters must feel overwhelmed, I get updates everyday of dogs being put on euthanasia lists in certain shelters. It's mind-boggling.

You were nice last time. Next time, get animal control on his ass - he loses his pet, gets charged with animal cruelty.

Get a camera and video everything he does that could be considered cruelty to animals.

They'll make his life miserable. I'd also notify SPCA and Humane Society.

Do you have a lawyer? If not, I'd seriously think about discussing this with one.

Just be careful. People like him wouldn't hesitate to escalate. I'd definitely get a couple of security cameras and aim them at his property.
