I was browsing and came across the above title in Google. The first article was written
in Oct. 2000, just before the elections of that year. If it's all true, no wonder
the Feds. could never beat the drug-smugglers bringing all that poison into our country!

1. As long as protection is coming from the very highest officials of ,

government, drug abuse is here to stay. And, to top it off, Bush Sr. was one
of the presidents who drastically increased the punishment of drug abusers.
It was mandatory that they served their full sentences. Whereas, whenever
prisons have become overcrowded, even a few murderers had been let out
early - but not those who had abused drugs. And these were not violent, and had
harmed no one but themselves with their drug habit.

The sense of values of some lawyers and prison administrators must have flown
out the window.
