Tracking Campaign Ca$h: Chart on "independent" expenditures by group and by campaign

The Washington Post apparently intends to update this chart at least weekly, showing independent political expenditures by the name of group and also by the political race in question.

For the week ending August 22, groups spent a total of $2,276,665, with $1,294,309 on behalf of Republicans and $982,356 on behalf of Democrats.

See

The totals shown in the chart represent spending in calendar year 2010. Data includes "independent expenditures" and "electioneering communication" spending reported to the Federal Election Commission. Spending on "issue ads" will not be included if it is more than 30 days before a primary or more than 60 days before the general election.
