In the Future...
After conservatives manage to pass a "flat tax", in the Future, a "flat tax" or "fair tax" will be a concept espoused by conservatives who believe it is no longer fair to tax the rich and the poor at the same percentage, and that the only fair thing to do is to tax both the rich and the poor at the same dollar amount.

And by the time this happens, there will be no middle class, just the rich and poor mentioned above.

Unless we find a way to stop this massive shift to the right in American politics.

1. People lose track of the fact the Reich is incremental. Plus, they are greedy.
so there is no final destination other than absolute control.

You bet your ass they'll move those goalposts.

3. "They thought they were free."
To live in this process is absolutely not to be able to notice it - please try to believe me - unless one has a much greater degree of political awareness, acuity, than most of us had ever had occasion to develop. Each step was so small, so inconsequential, so well explained or, on occasion, "regretted," that, unless one were detached from the whole process from the beginning, unless one understood what the whole thing was in principle, what all these "little measures" that no "patriotic German" could resent must some day lead to, one no more saw it developing from day to day than a farmer in his field sees the corn growing. One day it is over his head.

2. This history of latin america is filled with stories about unequal wealth. And now that they
are sharing the wealth of those nations amongst their people equally...they are becoming more stable and less banana republic-ish. They are becoming stable democracies. The evidence is everywhere.

Inequality results in murder and mayham.
