Anybody know anything about scheduling at TCM? Ted Turner still owns it, right?

The Beckapalooza was in planning for well over a month.

I'm guessing somebody at TCM was smiling today.

1. They should play it tomorrow, before and AFTER Beckapalooza
So those baggers can get an eyeful of the REAL Glenn Beck.

2. I was grateful it was aired. A very prescient movie

3. I've never seen that movie
But I've heard that "Lonesome Rhodes" is a powerful precursor of Glenn Beck.

And I'm guessing it WASN'T a coincidence.

5. I hadn't seen it either. You'll love it.
You'll see why Olberman calls Beck "Lonesome Rhodes"

15. Great movie. You need to see it, Canuckistanian.
We borrowed it from Netflix.

4. They were proud as punch when they debuted it a year or so ago
and have played it fairly frequently since then, always in prime time.

So no, I sincerely doubt there's much of a coincidence.

I think it should be required viewing for high school students.

It was Griffith's finest performance, almost unbearably creepy.

7. Patricia Neal just died
I don't know if that's why they played the film, but more likely than the Beck thingy.

8. How about 'The Ruling Class' coming on Saturday at 11pm?
It says, "The 14th Earl of Gurney thinks he is Jesus, then enters the House of Lords thinking he is Jack the Ripper". It sounds like what beck might think.

14. That one is pretty surrealistic.
I liked it. Gives you a lot to think about, but not a movie you can casually glance at.

9. TCM shows it quite regularly.
Seems to be on a rotation.

10. TCM ROCKS! No accident at all...
TCM regularly programs movies which were absolute prophecy
about the days we live in and the history which repeats itself.

11. Keep an eye out for another TCM broadcast of "Ship of Fools"
I would be fairly certain it is coming soon.
They were the first to resurrect it after the BFEE came to power again
in 2000.

12. Love that movie.
I see something new in it each time I watch it.

This time I observed that Lonesome wasn't at the beginning a total hypocrite. He did have a compassionate aspect which was evidenced by his wandering on the streets of Memphis and encountering the black lady whose house had burned down. He really wanted to help her even though he used the situation as his stepping stone on the first TV show.

16. Here's the difference b/n LR and GB imho:
You could have Beck on the air/on the record showing utter disdain for his "fans" on Friday and they'd be back for more with a friend on Monday. They are totally devoted to him. They think nobody's telling them "the truth" on television except him.

17. It was Lee Remick day on TCM and that is why they played it.
