I don't understand. That makes no sense, Mom.
My 16 year old daughter's response to me when I started to explain Glenn Beck's Rally and his intent to “reclaim the civil rights movement". "Whose rights?" she asked. "I don't understand." "That makes no sense, Mom."

1. No kidding. This is just disgusting: “We are the people of the civil rights movement."
On his radio show, Mr. Beck said he had not intended to choose the anniversary for his “Restoring Honor” rally on Saturday but had since decided it was “divine providence.”

Dr. King’s dream, he told listeners, “has been so corrupted.”

“Judge a man by the content of his character?” he said. “Character doesn’t even matter in this country. It’s time we picked back up the job.”

He later added: “We are the people of the civil rights movement. We are the ones that must stand for civil and equal rights, justice, equal justice. Not special justice, not social justice. We are the inheritors and protectors of the civil rights movement. They are perverting it.”

Can't argue with that, he's living proof.

3. What a loon!
We are the ones that must stand for civil and equal rights, justice, equal justice. Not special justice, not social justice.

Omg, do his moronic followers even hear what he is saying?

MLK not standing for 'social justice'!

I swear, this country has become an insane asylum. How is he getting so much media coverage? He's boring, crazy, like watching a drunk at a party making a fool of himself. And yet, in the 'land of the free' there are actually people who will pay to see this when they could go to any bar on any night and see it for free.

I think it's a test. An experiment to see how low someone has to get before there is no one who will support them. Looks like there is no bottom, as I thought he was about as low as you could get.

He's trying too hard to prove he's not a bigot and his disgusting abuse of the memory of MLK should be illegal.

4. It truly is disgusting.
And if a 16 yo can figure out what a joke Beck is, what a contradiction his rally is, in a matter of seconds, I will no longer even consider ignorance an excuse. Because I've done that. Assumed that some people are just so ignorant they don't understand what they have become a part of. These people are far worse than ignorant.
