John Mayer calls HuffPost 'the internet Death Star'

John Mayer has kept fairly quiet since dropping the "N" word in Playboy earlier this year, but he broke from the light-hearted material in his recent Tumblr posts to take on reports which claim he's returned to the arms of Jennifer Aniston.

On Thursday, The Huffington Post speculated that the singer could be back on with "The Switch" actress following, what the site claimed was his on-stage ramblings from his recent show at the Hollywood Bowl. The website claimed Mayer said: "I believe in second chances," as well as, "If you really love someone, just tell them and be with them."

The story prompted the singer to take to his Tumblr account where he called the website "the internet Death Star." He went on to question the website's reporting, writing, "Huffington Post, this is reporting? How do you pay your writers now, in Silly Bandz? Do you meet your sources in a malt shoppe?"

In the story, the website claimed a woman suspected to be Aniston was in the wings at Mayer's Hollywood Bowl show, and also referenced an e-mail to another outlet — E! News — which claimed while on stage, Mayer was "looking, smiling, smirking and winking" at someone.
