WEDNESDAY, Aug. 25 (HealthDay News) -- Even prior to the onset of the economic recession in 2008, nearly one in four American parents with health insurance reported that their coverage was so inadequate they were unable to access the medical care their children needed.

1. So just where are the hefty cigarette/tobacco taxes...
going? Major selling point of those taxes was that they would go to provide health coverage for kids. If the money is NOT going to help kids, then discontinue the taxes.

2. Tobacco Taxes are a joke. It has been reported more than once
over the years, there are not enough smokers left for
these taxes to have any effect.

Congress does not have the spine to raise taxes. They
play shell games raising fees and "Sin Taxes". They
have to know the money is not there, but Legislating
covering Kids with Health Insurance sounds so good.

The Republicans have their games also. When such laws
are passed Republican run states simply do not formally
notify the public and therefore no one applies and
kis remain uncovered. If people do not know their
kids are covered, they sure as heck are not going
to apply.

Cynical yet???
