I think I've figured out the reason for the BecKKKapaloosa today
Money. All of his advertisers except Goldline quit over his racist comments and rants. Ruppert wants some revenue out of his show and told BecKKK he had to do something or walk the plank. So BecKKK comes up with this pathetic scheme to out MLK MLK and show, by the parade of awards to people color, that he isn't a racist. Thus, the advertisers will return and Ruppert is happy and BecKKK can continue his tears of Vick's, I mean joy, on cue.

3. Yeah -- I was talking about the awards he's giving.
That's what will be shown on TeeVee, and looped on Fox forfuckingever. They'll show those clips to potential advertisers and say, "See, Glenn looooovvvveeeeesssss people, even those who aren't white. Please advertise on his show."

5. I think you are spot on-
I tried to say this very thing in another thread, but you've said it better.

Sadly, the people that I know who embrace Beck and Limbaugh hear tiny tidbits and sound-bites and either stop listening or ignore the full message that these people promote.

Christian religious fervor, nationalism, and support for the military industrial complex = more votes for the GoP. A GoP majority = low taxes for the most wealthy, low regulation, more wall street gambling, and more war profiteering.

So yes, it's about money and not on small scale.

The black folks he's had around is obviously to obfuscate their racism.

6. Yes, follow the money.
Scare tactics are used to keep people voting against their self-interests.
