Please note that Glenn Beck
is using Hitlerian elocution, shouting, in his interpretation of the Gettysburg Address.
Any sensitive reader would know that the words dictate less passion.
The man is irrational. Even where reason is called for, he can't do it.

On another note - is that a slice of watermelon? Poor melon!

3. Yep. Too bad it's the generation who beat Hitler and
in my case was alive as a child during WWII are the ones that are mopping up his rhetoric.

6. I like to shat
when the one fellow equated Beck with Jesus Christ. I also noticed folks talking about our "Christian military warriors". What they're up to is extraordinarily obvious. Pushing God, religion, military, war and nationalism = more votes for the GoP.

10. Charles Manson's followers called him
Jesus Christ.
The way I see it, this man is just as anarchic as Manson ever dreamed of being.

11. He is also anti-humanistic.
A key characteristic of both Manson & Hitler.

13. Yeah, but Beckerhead can't pull it off like Adolph could
Edited on Sat Aug-28-10 01:01 PM by localroger
Really, Hitler had a profound talent for oratory, much of which was a genuine passion that carries through even if you don't speak German. Beck ain't got that. Yes, he can get the people who are predisposed to follow someone like him to go along, but people who aren't so disposed tend to spot him instantly for the three bit carnival huckster he really is.

14. It's also important to remember that
Edited on Sat Aug-28-10 01:04 PM by burnsei sensei
when you look at Triumph of the Will, you're seeing a movement that has just endured schismatic problems. The rally was held less than a month after the shooting of Ernst Rohm. There is much rhetoric that is aimed at rapprochement with the Storm Troopers.
The Storm Troopers, it's important, pre-dated the Nazis. They were formed in 1915 and had separate and strong military ambitions for their organization.
They wanted to replace the German Army-- something the Prussian military elite would never have allowed.
