2. First half was a right wing "Support The Troops" rally.
Second half was a televangelist crusade.

None of it was likely what the teabaggers and most BecKKK fans were hoping for.

21. I thought he was supposed to change the world
For the amount of time this former radio DJ has spent pumping this up to the second coming of none other than Jesus Christ, it sounds like this was more incoherent ramblings about god and war. So I am guessing the next step in the Glenn Beck Movement, after the bowl movement that comes out of his mouth every time he talks, is to convert the world to Christianity and start a holy crusade?

But I really like seeing that the tea partiers did not look very pleased at how things shaped up. Hopefully the few of them that haven't had their brain cells killed by Moonshine and inbreeding will start to realize they are all being used for monetary gain.

10. "What" doesn't matter.
Glenn is focused on using bibical symbolism -- 40 Days! -- without context or meaning.

24. In my opinion,
those two descriptions combine to define Beck. There have been numerous sociopathic parasites who believe that they are "special" in the way Beck views himself.

Edited on Sat Aug-28-10 12:39 PM by RamboLiberal
Watched from 11 to end. BORING! Crowd was not fired up. Looked bored. Clapped politely. Probably wondering why the hell they wasted their Saturday & money.

Clear the big wimp Beck was wearing a bulletproof vest under his blue shirt.

18. More like the 'Snooza-palooza'
Here it is:

1) God loves American wars.

2) America needs to be restored to the white, Christian nation it once was.

3) Glenn Beck thinks he is a reincarnation of Moses.

And, finally, the general theme was well expressed by another DUer (crediting the Simpsons):

"Move forward, not backward, upward not forward and always twirling, twirling, twirling towards freedom!"

19. America Porn. God Porn.
Only controversial statements that stand out in my mind was from Alveda King (anti-abortion), and beck mentioning the debt. Mention of John McCain by Palin (in context of introducing one of his co-prisoners) barely got a golf clap. All of the honorees were minority (except the last, who was not present, but had his award accepted by a black breast cancer survivor). Mainly black gospel singers throughout. Included a nice tribute to MLK, including a portion of the "Dream" speech.

All in all, it was exactly what Beck advertised. Not sure how many thousands were there, but well over 100K watched on UStream. Attempts to misrepresent what happened will probably hurt our side in November.

Nonpolitical event, but could have political ramifications afterall.
