I guess we have to give Beck some credit. He didn't preach
fear and hate and because of that he probably has lost a good bit of his hateful base. Those folks are all dressed up (or down) with no place to go. There must be a reason Beck and Palin were so restrained (for them)and I wonder what it might be.

1. Does anyone know what he preached?
If I had spent money on this event I would be pissed.

6. You and I aren't his target demo.
It was advertised as a revival of sorts, an event of faith. Those paying attention will likely not have been disappointed.

2. Oh, really?
No, he wasn't that direct ...

But, the message was quite clear: the Beck nation is a white, Christian nation.

3. Good point.
I found myself asking the same question -- why so low-key with hate and fear? I would speculate that he is attempting to expand his base.

4. Some DUers have speculated that Fox/Murach put him up to this
to get sponsors of his show back. ???

8. Quite simply, our backlash worked.

They HAD to tone it down because too many people were watching--including potential sponsors.

This is just like what happened with Focus On The Family's Tim Tebow commercial. What was going to be a flagrant endorsement of anti-abortion advocacy was softened into cutsey "miracle baby" doting-mother chumminess.

On Monday, Beck's theme song will be "The left overreacted--don't they look silly now?" And ours should be "You blinked! Aggressive progressivism works!" We won the round with Tebow, and if Beck didn't say anything he couldn't have said from his studio, we won this round, too.
