False Advertising?
The gathering was advertised as "Restoring Honor" to America.

But once the crowd was there, there was no talk about "restoring honor". They talked about restoring faith, hope, and charity. But no "restoring honor".

"Restoring honor" was only a slogan to get the rubes into the tent. Many "tea-baggers" had to believe they were going to talk about Obama and how to get rid of him and restore "honor" to our country. How disappointed they must feel about now?

After all, that slogan evoked somethig totally different from what they experienced when they got there. It was not what many expected. There were times when some of the speeches sounded almost "liberal" in their compassion and their charitable giving. Nobody said anything about cutting taxes and letting them keep more of their money. Did they go to the wrong event? Was Al Sharpton going to be the next speaker??

1. I read a comment in one of the news reports that said can you imagine
the right wing outrage that would happen if 'we' held a rally suggesting that America's "honor" needed to be restored.

Guess this is another example of "just-us" at work.

2. And no matter what they are saying, they could care
less about "Faith", "Hope" and "Charity."

Like a bumper sticker I read recently says - "Faith" "Hope" and "Victory"
with the "Victory" being their fight and war against the poor, the dark
skinned and those who attend a church other than what the RW wants them to attend.

3. There is a point to be made there.
How is living that faith done? What will be his comments tommorow, what were his comments yesterday.

What does he really think about social justice, ideas of people, including governments that represent people, helping people.

Does he think profit motive achieves those things?

His speech was way different then the "me, me, me" speeches, and way different then many other comments he has made. So I hope he has turned the corner, and we will see a more liberal progressive Glenn Beck.
