Hey, a year from now, no one is going to remember what went on in DC today
Especially, not all of those weepy, delusion-drunk sots out there in the crowd. Yeah, they were bored stiff, from what you tell me.

Fox MAY do a thirty second blurb about it, if ever they decide to take a break from their 24 hr Obama-bash-a-thon, but no one else will. Not juicy enough.

And for Beck himself by then? Let's see:

Fox canning his silly ass?

A Complete psychotic break?

Facing fraud and racketeering charges?

Some horrible Teabagger incident to contend with?

Sex Scandal? Nah, who would screw that slimeball?

Something unexpected to totally discredit him?

A bigger media circus about some tween sensation spiking a city's water supply with LSD?

All of the above?

Whatever.

Obviously, from your reports, the BeckVerrückteFest's inspirational level laid prostrate somewhere between a vigorous yawn and a rousing ho-hum.

Yeah, boys and girls... He really showed us.

Hmmmm.

But, then again... Maybe, I shouldn't underestimate the God-given awesome power of his perpetual support base:

1. Didn't he claim that some kind of miraculous sign from God would occur?
Did it?

:eyes:

I think you're right. A bunch of deluded, ignorant old white people showed up to prove what great "patriots" they are, and now that they can feel good about themselves for doing their part to Save America, they can go home and sit on their fat asses and watch Faux Snooze some more. ANd that's probably all most of them will ever do.

6. The Civil Rights movement was back up by years of action
and resulted in profound change. That is why it is remembered. If it had just been some big gathering at the Capitol organized by a well-funded radio personality, no one would remember it now. The Civil Rights movement was a genuine grass-roots movement, addressing real injustice.

The Tea-baggers are a bunch of passive, victim-players who have been funded, rattled up, and "organized" by the wealthy Right in this country. Without the Wealthy Right they would not have gotten anywhere.

8. Your logic slices like a laser
I would expect the MSM to completely ignore your excellent line of reasoning.

9. OK, people, color me absolutely floored
I went to check the local (RW) TV site for the weather forecast and local radar, and one of the headlined stories was Al Sharpton, "The dream has not been achieved." They had video of part of the speech and it's a good one. Rev. Al got a nice haircut for the occasion and he looks better than ever. He's not wearing Kevlar, either, unlike the unmentionable bigot preacher.

There wasn't a single word about the Beckerhead hatefest.

Story #8 at http://www.koat.com/index.html

I'm absolutely floored that they didn't lead with the Hate-a-palooza. I'm even more floored that they didn't mention it, at all.

Then again, the tea party here never quite got past a few house parties and meetings in bars, fizzled out completely for lack of interest.
