6. Yes, the fascination for Beck and Palin appears not to be

limited to the right. I thought it was Glen Beck day on DU when I saw the number of threads on this non-event. I posted MLK's speech 'I have a dream' and it sank like a rock.

8. It's hard to beat the distractions.

I firmly believe that people like Beck and Palin are chosen to distract people from the issues, to use up vital energy that should be used on important issues.

I guess I failed in my small attempt to not let them win though. I'll have to study how to attract attention to real issues. They have studied how to do it and I have to admit, they are successful.

I must be in the minority but if Beck and Palin were dependent on people like me for attention, they would fail as I find both of them to be completely boring aside from anything else. The kind of people who, if they lived in your neighborhood you would avoid like the plague.

MLK otoh, I find fascinating and inspiring. But as I said, it looks like I'm in the minority.
