Bachmann: We hit 1 million
Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-Minn.) hosted her own rally Saturday at the Washington Monument. The event coincided with high-profile gatherings organized by Fox News host Glenn Beck and civil rights leader Al Sharpton.

On a day when crowd estimates could provide their respective groups with political clout, Bachmann asked her audience how many thought more than 1 million people were in attendance. The question was met by big cheers from the gathering of about 1,000. "We're not going let anyone get away with saying there were less than a million here today because we were witnesses," Bachmann said.

The Republican lawmaker also took the opportunity to list members of the House Tea Party Caucus, which she chairs. When she reached the name of Rep. Joe Wilson, best known for shouting "you lie" during President Obama's address to Congress, the crowd started chanting "you lie.". . .

I am starting to get militant again from the first time since Vietnam.

I have about had it with this crap. And well past it from the incessant cheerleading for them from the Washington Post.

1. Smoking crack. My estimates roughs around 30,000, no more than that.
I've seen bigger crowds in a baseball stadium than this joke of a rally.

5. Today, I started really feeling pissed-off
I can't attribute it to any one thing. I think it is more subconscious than conscious, having been built up during the attacks on gays, on Mexicans, on Muslims. Those things made me angry, but today I suddenly feel ready to explode.

I was offended by the plans for the Beckoning, and I watched it today, as I planned. The content was more something to be ridiculed than to outrage. There wasn't anything particularly outrageous about it--even MLK's niece has done worse, and said far worse things, before.

But I suddenly had a sense--that seems to be shared here--of being fed up. I'm feeling very angry, and I'm afraid that my usual tolerant, polite approach when I encounter RW talking points in the threads is now out the window. My tolerance threshhold for that kind of crap is at its lowest ebb.

As Mr. T says, "I pity the fool..." :)

6. You know, that sort of statement should discredit a person immediately.
It's easily disproven, and there's no way she could've possibly thought a crowd of 1000 was actually one million. It shows a complete indifference for facts. That *ought* to put anyone outside the range of acceptable discourse, but that's not the case in American if you happen to be a far right winger.
