Newspapers:Numbers on attendance at the Beck party ranging today from
300,000 to 78,000...Depending on the political orientation of the paper. Got these numbers from the "News" feature on google this morning...those closest to the "Cause" hold to the higher numbers, of course.
I "missed" seeing any coverage of the "event" - we were watching old Sherlock Holmes movies instead.

I believe it's time to move on to reality.

1. My local cat box liner skirted around an actual number.
Mentioned that the permit was for 300,000, that park rangers no longer did an estimate due to the discrepancy of numbers from the *ahem* million man march in '95, but there were literally tens of thousands in attendance.

2. I missed as well, watching "The Sorrow and the Pity" instead,
as I am always impatient to know how things will turn out. Besides, when journalism fails, we still have history.

3. I didn't go anywhere near the "event"
although I was downtown for about an hour yesterday...there was undoubtedly a larger than usual number of age 50+ white folks wandering around down there. I find it baffling that anybody at all would pay their way to DC to stand on the mall and listen to the absurd rantings of a lunatic and a moron, but I do hope that local business got a shot in the arm thanks to the extra tourists.

4. Not so hard to believe
After all it happened in Berlin, Munich, and Nuremberg.
