The Ethical Consumer Thread.
I've seen a lot of talk on here about buying products from companies that treat their workers well, don't use sweatshops, reduce their environmental impact, and have American (or Canadian) made products. We often see calls to not buy from certain companies, but we rarely see suggestions of where to buy from.

Well, I thought it would be a good idea to share where we get our ethically produced products from. Here are some of my favorite stores:

Ten Thousand Villages sells fair trade gifts from all around the world. They support artisans and encourage sustainability.

Grassroots is a company that sells environmentally friendly products. My best friend got a set of reusable wooden utensils there, and she brings them with her so she doesn't have to use disposable plastic cutlery.

The Fairie's Pyjamas is a Canadian company that sells fair trade (and adorable!) clothing made by a co-op in Nepal.

I'm also a big believer in buying from vintage and secondhand stores, as this reduces waste, as well as being a great way to find good deals. I got my prom dress at a Vintage store in Toronto, (Reflections at Yonge and Wellesley, which doesn't have a website), saved a lot of money and got a lot of compliments on it.

Share your ethical links!
