2 Beck Rally Attendees Object to 5 cent Bag Tax - Throw Sandwich in Face Deli Employee

Though the rally was a mostly peaceful gathering, two rally attendees got into a heated argument with an employee at the GW Deli over the D.C. bag tax, which ultimately resulted in the tea party member throwing a sandwich in the deli employee's face. The GW Deli declined to comment on the issue.

The District of Columbia requires all shoppers to pay a 5-cent tax for plastic or paper bags to carry their purchases. The funds pay for cleanup of the polluted Anacostia River.

What tourist doesn't carry a satchel, big purse, tote bag, fanny pack, sling, diaper bag on a stroller (which are used as wheelbarrows by parents) or some other piece of closed at the bottom item that holds things? This isn't like grabbing a Subway and returning to work.

This couple are cretins who threw a sandwich in somebody else's face. Regardless of how the Deli wraps their food, or what bags they already carry, they don't know how to behave in public, and should've been thrown in the drunk tank for a night's stay.

Even those cheapo $1 Safeway black grocery bags can be used 20-25 times before they fall apart. Much better than those plastic one time (or two for doggy doo) use bags.

I have a couple of canvas bags from Wild Oats ( Whole Paycheck bought them) that I got 12 years ago. One has steak blood stain that won't wash out, but they're still trooping along.
