For a so-called 'christian' does Glenn Beck even know how Jesus taught us to pray?
This is what Beck told his crowd when it comes to praying:

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2010/08/28/becks-restoring-honor-ral_n_697873.html

Beck exhorted the crowd to "recognize your place to the creator. Realize that he is our king. He is the one who guides and directs our life and protects us." He asked his audience to pray more. "I ask, not only if you would pray on your knees, but pray on your knees but with your door open for your children to see," he said.

And yet this is how Jesus taught us to pray (Matthew 6:5-8)
Prayer
5"And when you pray, do not be like the hypocrites, for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the street corners to be seen by men. I tell you the truth, they have received their reward in full. 6But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you. 7And when you pray, do not keep on babbling like pagans, for they think they will be heard because of their many words. 8Do not be like them, for your Father knows what you need before you ask him.

Isn't the Antichrist defined as someone who claims that he/she knows Jesus and yet leads them astray?

9. Yep,
Every pastor, preacher or spiritual leader should be very upset that Beck is telling their followers to "leave their church" if the preach social justice, which even the Mormon church teaches. Beck is trying to find his own "following", to start his own "cult", if you ask me. He really does think he is a "god", and he wants to be worshiped like a god. His ego is huge, and to have so many people listen to his every word has turned him into a power hungry con man!

I have talked with people who idolize the man and also claim to be pastors at their church, which makes no sense at all. Any church leader should be talking with their flock and explaining to them just what it is Beck believes in as a Mormon. I think he is talking a lot of his religious talking points, radical ones, from some of the more radical Mormons he admires, and combining them with his own crazy beliefs. He is dangerous, and why religious leaders are not speaking out about this is beyond me. Now I know some religious groups are pretty radical, but I don't think any of them would let a Mormon who knocks on their door into their home to try and convert them, and that is what Beck is doing, trying to convert his listeners to his way of thinking both religiously and politically. Kind of like Hitler did by using fear and hate to win them over!

5. I don't think any part of the Sermon on the Mount sunk in for the Beck-bawler.
Peacemaker, meek, turning the other cheek... It made a whooshing sound as it passed to his left.

8. Except Matthew 24 where I believe the part of the Left Behind theory was formulated

It's a bit of stretch but that's where some of the theories came from.

Oh and about all that charity fundraising he brags about:

2"So when you give to the needy, do not announce it with trumpets, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and on the streets, to be honored by men. I tell you the truth, they have received their reward in full. 3But when you give to the needy, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing, 4so that your giving may be in secret. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.

14. It is sadly not just Beck....remember the deep need to honor
Jesus by having Rick Warren engage in public prayer, the most public possible prayer? Then there was the oath, also forbidden by Jesus What's his name.
So the felt the need to insult millions to 'honor' Jesus by breaking his teachings in a public way that seemed to me to say 'We Know Better That He Whose Name We Use'.
Not sure how one set of public display makers can righteously call out another. I can call them both out, however, because of being consistent to principle.
So tell me in detail why televised international public prayer is fine and dandy. Use Scripture. I was told it was important to do that prayer, and that it be as insulting as possible to 'those people'. Yet the prayer itself was a forbidden act. Those People, Jesus never mentioned. The 'logic' is hard to follow.
