Wasn't Ashcroft's Wife In The Hospital Room?

Early accounts of the now famous hospital room confrontation between Gonzales, Card, Comey, and Ashcroft mentioned that Mrs. Ashcroft was present and possibly guards as well. If there were others in the room it would seem easy enough to confirm Mr. Comey's recall of events if those others gave versions substantially the same.

Couldn't hurt to ask.

1. Comey's credibility seems to be unimpeachable

2. She could testify WHO made the call to the hospital

and the specific events between that call and Comey's arrival. There was something in that call that caused alarm bells to go off in such a way as to contact Comey.

3. Was Comey under oath? If so, I don't think he needs corroboration--

but Ashcroft's wife was the one who got the call that Card and Gonzo were coming over and alerted Comey, if I have my story straight--so she knew what was up.

I don't think it'll be needed, but just in case.

Let's hear from the Ashcrofts...and, yes, I watched Comey's testimony and he said several times Mrs. Ashcroft was present when Card and Gonzo barged in. There are also phone records and hospital visitation records that can be subpoenaed.

Also, Card's no longer a government employee. He's not covered by any Executive privilidge and should be hauled before the Judiciary Committee...no Immunity, Chuck! At least on this crime...maybe if he's willing to cough up a bunch of 'em.

who was said to be in the room, to testify that ought to settle it once and for all. He is without a doubt a republican's republican.

11. I heard she was too and she had forbidden any visitors.

However, they couldn't keep Gonzo and Card out because the speculation is that the orders to do this came from either Bush or Cheney. I think those two bozos need to be put under oath to testify. They are not kings and are as accountable for their actions as the rest of us.
