John Boehner's tan is real. Or so he says.

Confronting the constant speculation over the Oompa-Loompa-ish hue of his skin, the House Minority Leader finally went on the record in an interview with the Wall Street Journal.

On the eve of the announcement of the GOP's Pledge to America, Boehner told the Journal unequivocally, "I have never been in a tanning bed or used a tanning product."

But even his own constituents have a hard time believing him.
