A Question For My Tea Party Friends

If the Tea Party is an independent movement fueled by voter anger and drawing upon people from all walks of life that is no way associated with the Republican Party......then why has there never been a Tea Party candidate on the Democratic side?

I've gotten a dumb look from every Tea Partier I have asked. I will admit one sputtered "well the Democrats nominated Obama" like that was an answer....and I guess in a way it was.

1. Just like "Independants" always vote Republican.

Anyone with the reasoning capacity of a 10-yr-old or older - who understands why empathy is important - will vote Democratic.

in the hands of Glen Beck and Fax news, I would doubt if they knew that Black men fought on the side of the south during the civil war let alone, what the hell their tea party friends are doing at this very moment.

they quoted Anne Coulter and said something like "most republicans suck. all democrats suck" (paraphrased).

according to interviews I have seen....so why not try to change our party too? Its because they are the Family Values wing of the Republican party....nothing more.

6. My observation

As Matt Taibi said: They're full of shit.

My father and 3 of my friends are tea partiers. All but one have one thing in common: They adored, I mean really supported with every fiber of their being; George Bush. They hated McCain......till he became the GOP presidential candidate.

The 3rd friend is economically liberal but socially conservative, but likes the tea party only in the general "screw the whole establishment" type of way and laughs at my concern that the vocal extreme elements are dangerous. He just thinks they're venting and harmless. I disagree.

My take: They're just hard-right and religious repubs. ( except my father, who just uses the whole judeo-christian mantra as a club to weild about )
