I remembered! Currier & Ives

the coffee table book I grew up with was a Currier & Ives bk. the one I was telling you all about that had political cartoons of BARONS, political slogans and songs, etc. like She Will Be Coming Around The Mountain song. which in later life I learned was a political song.

haven't had time to search for the bk. yet.

I'm relieved to see that I can still dredge up memories :)

horses are hard to paint, draw, in Motion and get it right. C.&R. was good in portraying moving horses.

5. Currier and Ives books are pretty easy to find.
I see them at used bookstores and tag sales regularly. Usually marked at between $5-10. I pick them up if they are under $5.

Here's a link to a PBS site with lots of information about the printmakers and links to documentaries and exhibitions. http://www.currierandives.org/education/index.html
There's MUCH info about them on the Internets.

Long live C&I in our hearts and minds.
