My most sincere thanks to Republican candidate Ron Johnson (WI)

for the candid and thoughtful opinion he offered Thursday to AP:

"The science of global warming is unproven. It just is. I’m not even sure if, if it were a fact, whether we could do anything about it anyway."

Johnson hasn't had any science training out of high school, but he didn't let that stop him from stepping up to help destroy the planet - or at least, plead pathetic helplessness.

I hadn't realized the depths of ignorance a leading candidate was capable of plumbing, and it motivated me to immediately make out a big fat check to Johnson's opponent, Russ Feingold (D-WI). Who actually is pretty smart and has taken a stand for things he knows something about. Russ doesn't represent a square cubit less than 2000 miles from me, but it just kinda made sense.

5. It isn't just Ron Johnson. Every non-incumbant Republican running for the Senate either believes

that global warming is unproven, that it isn't man-made, or that it is a pure hoax (according to ThinkProgress).
