1. The perpetrators of that stunt
will be lucky not to be expelled. Or perhaps it would be better for them to be expelled and then go somewhere far away to finish their schooling. The girl appeared to be in high school.

They can't be too popular right now.

How to ruin lives -- their own included.

2. But he was a homo, and that makes it ok. Right?

:sarcasm:
The death of one kid is going to make a huge difference in how every other student at that school treats everyone who's different.

On Edit, I don't mean to imply that you don't care deeply... speaking about society in general.

Sorry if my tone caused you any angst.

8. I don't know about you, but I don't consider publically broadcasting a sexual encounter a "stunt".
"Or perhaps it would be better for them to be expelled and then go somewhere far away to finish their schooling."

Perhaps it would be better for these two sick fucks to go to prison for a few years to think about what a horrible thing they did. To think about the poor young man whose life they took with their callous cruelty.

"They can't be too popular right now."

Fucking GOOD!

9. Expelled? It's a legal matter.

They will likely be charged with a crime. It was a malicious act, and I think it will be used to set a precedent about bullying-type behavior and the consequences of that behavior.

10. I think most are clueless and don't think about consequences....

Most bullies don't think about consequences, nor do those who silently allow the bullying.

I think Tyler's death, combined with there being four other student suicides as a result of bullying in September, could be a turning point to wake young people to the reality that there are consequences to hateful, malicious behavior.

If the court systems handles the perpetrators of this act appropriately, IMHO, that is.

Of course, the adults are likely a hopeless cause...the mean-spirited, hate-filled adults spewing their "moral preachings."

The kids, however, some of them can be reached, especially those who normally are silent but don't approve of the behavior.

They need to understand that SILENCE IS CONSENT.

It's called PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY and ACCOUNTABILITY. What the Republicans have always preached but never truly embraced.

His death has touched a lot of people in a way that's very redemptive of humanity.

K/R!

7. K&R -- "You have to be taught to HATE and FEAR ... you have to be carefully taught --" !!!
We have to STOP organized patriarchal religion from continuing to teach

hatred and intolerance for homosexuals from its pulpits every Sunday ---

Anyone listening to this hate speech should understand that it is no different

from hate speech directed at any other group . . . Women, Jews, Latinos, African

Americans ... whatever!

I'm pleased Rutgers and the study body are taking this very seriously and seem intent on addressing it fully.
